What a wonderful meeting and theme for our 17 June final Speechcraft session. Chairman Ron chose “Matariki” as our theme and Dieter used this in Table Topics.
Speaker 1 was Quentin on “How to purchase a cheap car!” He said you must have a budget, go for a mainstream type of vehicle, buy in winter, look on TradeMe and avoid EV and hybrids, luxury cars and turbocharged, diesel and 4WD vehicles.
Speech 2 by Jinny was the story of “Situationship vs Relationship”, where Jinny fancied herself as an unlicensed expert relationship counsellor. She related the story of Steve and his girlfriend in a conversational tone with great hand gestures.
Speech 3 by Darril was another classic “Highs and Lows of Life” where he related what he thought were the 5 highs of life compared with the lows of life. It was very insightful and interesting.
Best Speaker of the night was awarded to Quentin.

Congratulations also go to our President Ron for successfully organising and running this Speechcraft programme, and thanks go to the educational team and club members for supporting and mentoring the speechcrafters in their introduction to Toastmasters.
Congratulations to our graduates – Darril, Quentin and Jinny on receiving their certificate.
