With the theme of World Bee Day, our second Speechcraft session was quite a buzz. We had four incredible Icebreaker speeches covering a range of topics from the journey to being a sales rep, to social media influences, the journey to Toastmasters, and how nice guys finish last!
Icebreaker speeches are always memorable because the audience gets an insight into the new speaker, learning about an aspect of their life that led them to be at Toastmasters. They are always informative and valuable.
Table Topics challenged every speaker with a sweet topic related to bees!
Jacqui gave an educational on how to introduce a speaker, and Dale told everyone “how to organise a speech” using three basic methods: the outline, a mindmap and the 5Ws+1H.
Grammarian Dirk told us how many people had used the word of the day “buzz”. Katina outlined the timing, and Vicki played Memory Master!
General Evaluator Dale awarded Jinny with the best contribution of the night.
