Jacqui reports on our 15 October meeting – which didn’t go to plan, but ended up so much better!
What a wonderful meeting tonight Lin!! Well done Dieter for your contribution to changing the venue at which it was held at the last minute. Both your communication skills were rated highly by the rest of the meeting members chilling quietly outside the hall.
The two evaluators and speech givers got together (over a beer) weeks before the actual delivery of the speech (now November 5th) so both speech and evaluation will be superbly delivered with plenty of refinement and practice to earn a superlative evaluation.
The table topics master was superb at asking random questions during the evening and we sang a minute and a half long “Happy Birthday” to the couple on the table next to us when his cake arrived brimming with candles! Talk about being trained to rise to the occasion. It all paid off this evening.
Great leadership was shown, the consensus style to the fore and a guest so truly impressed with our care and conviviality that he may, possibly, front up as a new member after his holidays.
