On Tuesday 17 September 2024, Spinnaker Toastmasters held its Table Topics and Humorous contests. Despite it being the coldest night of the year, club members, guests and visiting judges all huddled in our warm cosy meeting room to witness a wonderful contest evening.
Hosted by VP Education Dale Hartle, first up was the Table Topics Contest, with the topic being “Which do you prefer, and why? A snow ball or a beach ball”. The six speakers were evenly split on this topic, which led to some hilarious stories.
Table Topics winners:

Dieter and Jacqui will now compete in the Area J1 contests in early 2025.
After supper the Humorous contest was up next with five amazingly humorous speeches from Spinnaker members. This contest was to find the club champion as the Humorous contest is not being held beyond club level this year.
Humorous winners were:

3rd – Mike Tecofsky
