Speech 1 by Gary “Stay Healthy” evaluated by Dale was a personal story of his two visits to hospital recently, and how we should be grateful for the state of the New Zealand health system and how he wouldn’t be here tonight without it. He was pleading with us to stay healthy to keep out of the hospital system as long as possible.
Speech 2 by Darrell “Where there’s a will there’s an EPA”. Darrell explained the necessity of having a will plus two Enduring Power of Attorneys with responsible people in charge. Darrell finished by saying that with the cost of getting the documents done, and he can’t afford to die! Evaluator Ron thought it was a well structured speech with lots of useful information for everyone.
Speech 3 by Dieter was a business proposal practising for the real thing. He called it “work work work”. This was a presentaton about workplace savings schemes that benefit employers and employees together. Evaluator Megan said he was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and she liked the use of “taking the cap off” to swap between each audience.
General Evaluator Jocelyn thought the theme of dragons was innovative and fun.
